Meet the Spring Blend

A matcha blend of three single-cultivar matcha teas — Okumidori, Yabukita, and Samidori, ground using the vintage method on stone mills to 5-7 microns from the Tsuji Rihei farm in the heart of Uji.

An ideal blend that will taste great on its own, or in your matcha lattes and cocktails. Okumidori provides a bright green color and a slight acidity, Yabukita its noble bitterness and good beverage texture, and Samidori highlights the aroma and adds a piquant umami note.

Taste description

A classic blend used as a base for usucha in tea schools. Rich body and a noble vegetal note with a piquant flavor.

Creamy aroma, with herbal notes of pea pods.

The taste is dominated by a rich avocado note, slight sweetness of young corn, and a hint of walnut.

More about cultivation

The blend has become a popular modern variety, characterized by a rich body and creamy consistency, resistant to severe frosts, and having good yields.
Samidori is also famous for its light fruity acidity, which highlights new facets of the tea.

Japan, Uji

A match with over 100 years of history

The brand's story began in 1860 when entrepreneur Tsuji Sensuke, later known as Rihei, opened his own tea business. It was a time of great change: the Tokugawa shogunate was declining, and the tea industry was going through a difficult period. It was then that Rihei decided to focus on quality and tradition. His pride became Uji Gyokuro, and later, the famous "Daimon" blend.
